Right now...

My friend is in labor. She's having her second child. This time via a midwife-assisted homebirth.
I am so proud of her.
I am so excited I can hardly stand it!!
I want to be there with her (but understand that this is her moment). I'm just so happy that she had someone call and tell me. (During my labor I didn't want anyone to know - afraid that people would show up uninvited. I think if we ever do this baby thing again, I'd invite more people... to share in the joy.)

This is the candle from her blessingway. It's burning -right now- in my kitchen, the center of our home. It represents her birthing time, the baby to come, love, and our friendship. It also happens to be wrapped in a PINK ribbon... let's keep our fingers crossed. :) (But, sweet baby, if you do happen to be another boy... we will still love you all the same.)

****UPDATE**** It's a BOY!!! A healthy baby boy was born at 10:38 p.m. I can't wait to hear this birth story! Congratulations Mama Tina, Papa Kevin, and Big Brother Jack!!
